Domestic, Commercial, and Solar Farm Cleaning
A soiled array loses output, and the loss is not evenly spread. Bird mess or a band of dried-on dirt across the bottom of a panel shades cells in series, which drags down the whole string rather than just the part that is dirty.
Cleaning it is a job for pure water and a soft brush. Detergents leave a film that attracts the next round of dust and can be a problem with some panel warranties; hard water dries into deposits that do exactly what the dirt was doing.
Zero TDS water rinses and leaves nothing, so the panel dries clear without anyone going up to dry it off. Combined with a pole it means most domestic and commercial roof arrays can be cleaned from the ground.
The practical constraint is water volume: a decent-sized commercial array will get through more than most vans carry, so being able to refill mid-job at a set price per litre is usually what makes the schedule work.
